Leadership Is Not Extraordinary

What is thing called Leadership?

Are you a Leader?

Are leaders born or made?

Are leaders holders of protracted job titles, gargantuan bank accounts, and opulent homes and vehicles?

Must leaders have millions of followers on Facebook, WordPress, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, or YouTube?

Is leadership really all about changing the world?

Drew Dudley believes leadership is not a characteristic reserved for the extraordinary. Check out the TEDx talk he gave in Toronto in 2010, that was ranked by visitors to the site as the “Most Inspirational TED Talks of All Time”.

Inspiration for thought:

Maybe, if we viewed leadership as not being extraordinary but instead very run-of-the-mill, each of us would rise to our own leadership potential and wake up each day knowing that we have the power to bless someone with a “lollipop moment*”.

*Lollipop moments – something you said or did that made someone’s life fundamentally better.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear
is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness,
that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually who are we not to be?                                                                                          ~ Marianne Williamson ~
